We love Winston-Salem and its surrounding areas because everything is within a short drive and the traffic is minimal. The downtown area is very accessible, and together with the surrounding towns, there a a lot of restaurants, theaters and parks from which to choose. It is a very family-friendly place to live and has an active arts scene as well. The Winston-Salem area is wonderful because it is so family-friendly and there are excellent schools near our house. When you come to our area (Pfafftown), you feel as though you are in the country, but all amenities are available within a five minute drive.

We love so much about this house; we built it to our speci쎠cations. We love the amount of storage this home has and we love having such dense and pretty woods behind the house because it not only offers privacy, but it also is home to wildlife. We also really love the layout of this house-the kids had plenty of room to spread out and we had space of our own. The large, two-story windows in the living room provide a ton of natural light and there is a pretty view from just about every window in this house. 

Our house was designed with entertaining in mind; there are numerous places to host guests and the layout is open and spacious. We have hosted many large parties here, both indoors and out.

Our neighborhood is very quiet and offers a good deal of privacy. The is a beautiful walking path around the lake, which has a lovely gazebo and dock for all to use. It is a great place to walk your dog, and the lots are large enough that pets have plenty of space.

Some of our favorite restaurants are El Maguay for Mexican food, The Sherwood, which has a huge menu cuisine and draftbeers, Vincenzo's for Italian food.

We love that we have so many options when it comes to shopping. We love having Harris Teeter right here, but we also appreciate that we can shop at Lowes, Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Publix, or Trader Joe's, all of which are only a short drive away. Also, Hanes Mall and Thruway shopping center are only 15 minutes away.

All four of our children graduated from Reagan High School and we have been very pleased with the education they received there. We also have an excellent elementary school that is walking distance from the house. Wake Forest University is only a 10 minute drive, and our children have all participated in camps and activities there, including summer employment. Forsyth Country Day School and Summit School are close as well.

We enjoy participating in the Twin City Track Club, which sponsors races, parties, and speakers. We all volunteer to work races for the track club as well. In addition, the Y is right down the street and we have utilized that a great deal. We frequently attend movies and we also like to find new places to run/walk and there are several in the area.

The utility costs for this home are very reasonable for a home this size because it is well insulated and our builder used high quality windows. Our electric company is Duke Electric and our average bill is 200-300 dollars, which includes heat and air) our gas company is Piedmont Gas, and our average bill is 25 dollars. Our water and sewer are through Winston-Salem and our bill varies greatly due to sprinkler use (or not).

Lewisville is very family friendly and there is always something taking place in the square. You have banks, supermarket, library and many small shops. You really do not have to leave Lewisville for anything.

Our neighborhood is great for that early morning jog and walk. We love working outside in the garden.
We love to take a neighborhood walk after dinner and we enjoy arriving at this home in this location at end of cul de sac. We really like occasionally having dinner on the Deck while watching our children play in that spacious yard. 

Our favorite restuarant is Cicciones for the Italian dishes. There are plenty of grocery stores, but a favorite would be Lowes and Food Lion

The schools are rated the best in Forsyth County. The Lewisville area is very highly desirable due to the schools and family friendly area.

We immediately fell in love with the solid brick ranch with it's beautiful lush backyard. We love the wood floors throughout, the fireplaces, and the den looking out into the yard. It's our retreat from the hustle & bustle of life. Winston Salem has so much to offer. We love going to the Dash games, taking art classes, Old Salem, Salem Lake, the beautiful parks, the amazing restaurants, great shopping... And all these things are only a few minutes away.

We love Winston Salem; it has so much to do & see. But it still has that small town feel. The neighborhood we live in has houses on big lots, beautiful mature trees, sidewalks for walking, neighbors who wave & say hello. We love this neighborhood; we've been blessed with wonderful neighbors/friends who always will lean a helping hand & keep an eye out when you are away from home. We usually have neighbors over for the Kentucky Derby & go to one of their homes for Super Bowl.

The things that I love about Winston-Salem are the great restaurants, amazing shopping, movie theaters, quality healthcare systems, parks, and the ability to live in a suburban or a rural home depending on where you choose to live in Winston-Salem. The Winston-Salem area is great because it has something for everyone. It has become a great "foodie" town, it has every store you could hope to shop at, good school systems and kid friendly activities, and lots of festivals, concerts, and parks for those that like to explore. 

We like to be able to easily navigate the area. Everything we need is within 15 minutes, whether its running errands into shopping areas, going to the doctor, getting to restaurants, or visiting our family. This area is centrally located for all of that.
Our hobbies include going to the gym up the street, visiting the driving range minutes from our front door, and utilizing the shopping so close by.

We love this house for the layout. The master bed and bath are huge with his and hers closets, dual vanities and a garden tub. The kitchen has ample storage, and great bar and countertop surface. The floor plan is open for entertaining. And we love our formal dining room!

Our neighborhood is great because it is friendly. We exercise outdoors, we know all our neighbors, and it's quiet. There are lots of families and their children play outside a lot and they stay safe. We are able to have events in our homes and neighbors respect each other.

We love to eat at The Village Tavern, Nawab, El Paisano, East Coast Wings, The Olive Garden, The Porch Cantina, Arigato, and Ise. We like to be able to eat all kinds of different foods and Winston offers that and all at convenient distances from our house. 

Grocery stores are so close by. Food Lion is just a mile or so up the street. Lowe's Foods about 2 miles from home and offers seafood, butcher selections, beer and wine, and a huge produce section. Wal-Mart is a couple miles away too, if you like to make fewer trips to various stores. 

A few other things we like about this area is the close proximity to golf courses, driving ranges, minor league baseball games, High Rock Lake and The Grande Movie Theater. We like to take advantage of all the indoor and outdoor activities the area offers. 

Our utility costs have been very manageable in this home. We heat and cool our home with Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas. Waste Management provides curbside service for our waste, and Waste Industries provides us with a great recycling program that doesn't require us to sort ourselves. The things I love about my town are the great people who live here, it's a great place to raise a family and it's a big city with a small town feel. The Winston Salem area is wonderful for the small town feel yet close enough to visit the big cities for day trips.
