Here's what the seller of this great property has to say about the area and home:
The things I love about Winston Salem are the restaurants. We have
really great local restaurants. The live theatre scene is also really fun. There are shows almost all the time at Twin
City Stage, Paper Lantern Theatre and Theatre Alliance.
Our neighborhood is great for outdoor exercise. I love to take walks
through the neighborhood. We have sidewalks, street lights and even a
playground for the younger children. People wave and smile when you pass them.
It's a very friend area.
I love to eat at Village Tavern. It's only a mile away and it's one of
the best restaurants around. Just around the corner we have Macaroni Grill,
Outback, Olive Garden, Longhorn, Firebirds, Texas Roadhouse, TGIFridays and of
course...Starbucks.
This house is close to everything, including grocery stores. We have
Food Lion, 2 Walmarts, Lowe's Foods and Harris Teeter all within just a few
minutes not to mention Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Fresh Market just a short
distance away. There is also Costco, Sam's Club and Target within 2 miles of
the house.
When I bought this property, I was drawn to the proximity of life in
this area. I also like the neighborhood (so cute and friendly). I like the high
ceilings of the main level and the openness of the living space. I love cooking
and it's so easy to be in the kitch and be right in the middle of all the fun.
I also like maintenance free living.
The Winston Salem area is really thriving. I grew up here and I love
calling Winston Salem home. There is a lot of history in the historic town of
Old Salem and Hanes Mall is one of the largest malls around. It's very
centrally located with easy trips to mountains or beaches.
There are loads of highly respected colleges in this area like Wake
Forest and UNC School of the Arts. This property is maintained by an HOA
leaving loads of free to for me to do all the things I enjoy. I don't mow grass
or shovel sidewalks. There is also roof
replacement included should the need ever arise.
I like the privacy of this property. Being a townhouse it's nice to be
close to wonderful neighbors, but this property is well-insulated for sound and
backs up to the woods giving our outdoor barbecues wonderful shade.
Just around the corner from the house is the Hobby Park for radio
controlled air places or cars. There are several craft stores nearby for any
hobby that should arise.
Gas heat and hot water make this house very affordable. It is very
well-insulated and maintains it's temperature really well. It has dual-zone
thermostats so the upstairs and downstairs can be set differently. This keeps
the upstairs from being too hot or the downstairs from being too cold. Also,
included in the water is garbage pickup and recycling (through the City of
Winston Salem). Average Monthly Energy Costs in 2013: Duke Energy: $71.76,
Piedmont Natural Gas: $45.69, City of Winston Salem 31.75.
